$49.99 for 50 Mbps and basic TV. I think. 7.1 Megabytes per second for upload, 1.5 Megabytes for Upload.

If she is paying that for megaBYTES you are getting a royally good deal, but not getting the advertised speed at only 56 megabits/ second.
A byte is 8 bits, and your accidental conversion frustrates me :(

that ping is great. I'm freakin' paying $60 a month for 5up 1 down.

Where do you live? We pay 24.99 and I get 22.5 down and 2.38 up

Middle of nowhere, Oxford, WI. WE have to use the Marquette-Adams Telephone Co-Op. Verizon isn't allowed here because it "hurts local business."

yep, that's your trouble. Stinks you don't have any options.

I pay about €35 a month, including TV. It's reliable and consistent but the speed is horrible. The speed is even lower when I switch on my TV device thing unit item.

I get this and can stream HD for $25 i think

I get:
Supposed to be 25/5 I believe for $48.99
But, I know there are at least 3 devices right now streaming content... So speed not bad all considered. Also, megabits... bits... not bytes. 28 Megabytes would be 228 Mb/s

She paid for 50 Mbps AFAIK.
First time they've went conservative on their speed advertisements from my end!

Just being a jargon nazi above. But yes, that is really typical with cable ISPs. With Docsis 3 and the speed boost stuff it is real easy to get higher than advertised speeds especially on small downloads like webpages and speed tests. If it were a server issuing a DVD it probably wouldn't stay at 50 megabits for the entire download.

Not to be a downer, but....
